Sparrow of
the strange sky
In a gloomy place I dwell,
Struggling with bars to grab emancipation.
My feathers flutter, my wings ruffle,
And I keep flapping with passion…
You can
imprison my torso
But my spirit knows No border.
I am a wayfarer meant to trudge and move on
I know No limit and No order.
You laugh on my dreams calling me unreal and
silly,
And I pity you following society’s paradigm willy-nilly.
You don’t dare to carve a road for yourself
And I can’t bear any limitations on myself.
You are afraid of failures, of losses and
denigration,
I am afraid of losing self reliance and
satisfaction.
Call me a wanderer, a renegade or a rebel
Or a defamed queen of a nasty tale.
Bidding you Aloha! I’ll take off my flight
The sky is waiting for me and my companion
would be height.
Just because I don’t step with your bandwagon
Doesn’t mean I have no right to fly,
I’ll rule the universe my way people
Because I am a sparrow of the strange sky…
